In Australia, we come across many wonderful things. That’s right, Australia seems to have it all. They have everything from the kangaroos hopping to the beautiful scenery and the heat during the summer time. Did we mention that home insulation rebate that they are offering to the general public? What is this rebate all about? If you do not have insulation in your homes roof or ceiling, then you may be miserable as all of your coolness is leaking right out of the roof. Apart from being uncomfortable, you are paying extra money on your electric bill due to the lack of insulation. It has been stated that Australians and other homeowners across the world are paying anywhere from two hundred dollars to seven hundred dollars extra on their electricity bill each year all because they do not have insulation. As we continue this article, we are going to give you some facts about the rebate that is about to come into effect.

First of all, if you live in Australia and you have a home that has little or no insulation in the ceiling or roof, then you may be eligible to get your home insulated by professionals. For a couple of years, the Australians Government will be paying professionals up to 1, 600 dollars to do this job.

Take note that the average household in Australia will only require 1, 200 dollars to get this job done. However, if you have a house that is more than average, then you may go over the limit of 1, 600 dollars (which is as much as the government will pay). If this is the case, then you will be required to pay the remainder.

This program is set to target those homeowners that currently do not have insulation. It has been estimated that the average home will cost around 1, 200 dollars in order to get the job done, so if you have an average home, you will not be asked to pay anything out of your pocket.

In order to prepare yourself to get this done, you will need to have installers come to your home and give you quotes. The installers will need to be registered with the Australian government in order to qualify for this rebate.

In case you do not know, the Australian Government will cover up to 1, 600 dollars. The normal household will generally cost 1, 200 dollars to get insulated. However, if you have a large home, you could be charged over 1, 600 dollars.

We all know just how hot it gets during those summer months in Australia and the air can escape right out of the roof, which will make it hot in your home.

If you have previously got insulation added to your home on or after February 3, then you may be eligible for a complete refund of up to 1, 600. However, you will need to show two quotes, tax information and all of your receipts in order to get this refund.

If you are a homeowner and you have paid to get insulation installed between February 3 and June 30 of 2009, then you can send the papers in so that you can get reimbursed through the home insulation rebate package. You will need to show the two quotes, receipt to your claim and the tax invoice. Take note that you can either go for the 1, 600 dollar hot water rebate or the 1, 600 dollar insulation rebate, you cannot go for both.
